SIMPLE HOLIDAY SUGAR COOKIE RECIPE
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup (170g) unsalted butter, softened at room temperature
- 3/4 cup (100g) granulated sugar

2 and 1/4 cups (281g) all-purpose flour
- 1 Egg, room temperature
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 1/2 baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions:
Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together. Set aside.
Using a mixer with a paddle attachment, beat the butter and sugar together in a large bowl until completely smooth. Add the egg, vanilla, and almond extract and beat until combined.
Add all dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined. If the dough seems too soft and sticky for rolling, add 1 more tablespoon of flour. Place the dough in a fridge for 20 minutes to cool.
NOTE: Before using a rolling pin - brush it with vegetable oil to prevent sticking to the dough.
Roll, emboss, and cut cookies into desired shapes, dusting with flour as necessary.
Preheat the oven.
Bake cookies at 350°F (177°C) for 10-11 minutes or until cookie tops appear dry rather than shiny.
